This CD can be simply enjoyed by anyone who loves the sound of poetry. The poems are not spoken in a poetic voice but spoken with clarity of sense and place and not loosing the music of the words. Edmund interprets each poem from the feelings behind the words and vocally dramatises the story in narrative poems. All the poems have, like paintings, benefited from being framed with ambient music and sound that compliments and brings alive the poems more vividly.

Teachers at all levels have found it increasingly difficult to teach poetry. The principal reason is that it has not been taught aurally. To gain a fuller meaning and gain a sensual experience, a poem needs to be heard as well as studied. By hearing the words lifted off the page in this CD, students will more readily understand and be able to comment. This CD has been of great benefit to teachers in introducing poetry to young students.
